Budget Planning in Seoul

As a tight budget traveller, Seoul can be considered quite an expensive place to visit for a Malaysian. Everythings need to be times by 3. Without proper knowledge on the cost of living in Seoul, a traveller might be under-estimating the budget that they need to spare while travelling here. I listed below, some of prices that i can remember during my visit here.

Food and drinks

  1. Mineral water in convenience store = krw 900
  2. Coffee in cans or cups in convenience store = krw 1,000 to krw 2,000
  3. A plate of beriyani rice in Itaewon = krw 9,000
  4. Chicken, meat or lamb kebab at Mr Kebab = krw 9,000
  5. Turkish ice-cream = krw 3,000
  6. Bread at Turkish Bakery in Itaewon = krw 6,000
  7. Simple danish bread at Turkish Bakery in Itaewon = krw 1,500
  8. Eggs in convenince store = krw 3,000 for 6
  9. Durian = krw2,500 per 100g
  10. Rambutan = krw4,000 per 1kg

Goods

  1. Simple umbrella at roadside = krw 5,000
  2. Nice umbrella = krw 15,000 to krw30,000
  3. Normal Nature Republic or Faceshop face mask = krw10,000 for 10 pieces
  4. nice fridge magnet at Nandaemun = krw10,000 for 1o pieces
  5. souveniour t-shirt at Nandaemun market = krw 10,000 for 3 pieces
  6. bookmark or small souveniours at Nandaemun Market = krw 1,000
  7. simple fridge magnet at Seoul Tower = krw1,000 for 3 pieces
  8. gift set at seoul Tower = krw 7,000

Entrance Fee

  1. Cable car to Seoul tower = krw7,500 return
  2. Seoul Tower observation deck + Teddy bear Museum = krw 14,000
  3. Gyeongbokgung Palace = krw 3,000
  4. Nami Island ferry return + entrance fee = krw 8,000
